Default Roses

Hi guys, I want to show you my last (high)relief work. To clean the details without breaking the patals was a nightmare.
The wood is walnut; the dimensions 40 X 25 cm, the finish is danish oil.
Hope you like it.

The roses and their features looks absolutely beautiful!
A part of me wonders whether the contour of the background is too thought provoking--but you are the artist. After contemplating it for a few minutes, I can see it is a complicated matter (and I'm a beginner). The longer I look at it the more "right" it looks! If this is how you wanted to affect the viewer, I'd say you nailed it! : )

Thank you for sharing!
