Default Relief woodcarving bench

In David W. Bennet's relief woodcarving video "carving in a different light" Mr. Bennet has a bench whose top can be lifted up at various angles like an easl with holes for clamping. My question is, does anyone have any plans on how to build this type of bench? If you do, please contact me at my e-mail address jrussell@westcpa.com. Thank you.

If you can find an old barbers chair they make great carving benches. Remove the chair and add a top. I was lucky enough to get one of the dental chairs out of the Md state penetentary. Took the chair off built a top modified a few brackets and have been using it ever since. I got this from an antique dealer that I do carving repairs for. I bartered for it. The only bad thing was moving it. It took six of us to get it off the truck. This raises up and down with a hydraulic foot pump swivels 360 degrees and the table goes from horizontal to vertical and anywhere in between. I made the top out of hard maple and walnut strips laminated together so it wouldn't warp. So keep your eye out an ask around you just may find an old chair.
