Default Relief carving bench clamp

Can anyone recommend a good hold down clamp? I have a Quick Grip hold-down clamp from Vise-Grip but I cannot get any parts, I think they are out of business. It was not exactly what I wanted anyway. Thanks!

Many relief and chip carvers do not clamp their work, but use a bench stop arrangement. A flat panel with a raised edge to hold the work piece works well. Usually the near edge hooks on the edge of the bench or table.

Yep a modified bench hook is what I use. If the piece I am working on is much smaller than the depth of the bench hook then I place a peice of wood between the piece and the rear of the bench hook.

EDIT: in fact someone has just posteed an image of one: The first post in this thread:-
