Default Relief carved rose

A shirt-tail nephew requested that I carve the rose from the Grateful Dead's "American Beauty" album on a guitar that he's having made. I don't really consider myself a "relief carver", but here it is for your consideration. It was all I could do not to carve a Santa in there somewhere! LOL. Comments welcome.

A Santa-strat? Now that's a thought
Nice work on the rose. The cuts came out very clean.

Thanks folks, the wood is Alder for those who are curious. It was ok, but a little tendency to split.

Steve, I love this rose - it is so cleanly cut and the various parts blend in so well together.
