Thumbs up Quality Chip Carving Knives

Hi;

It has been awhile since I have posted, been busy with the grass cutting, the heat, and lots of sweat! I have been doing some chip carving when time permits, may post some pics later. What I wanted to pass on to everyone is the beautiful chip carving knives that Marty has started on MyChipcarving.com. He has been working with his manufactor for about 2 years now, and now has them on his web sit. Check these out. I just got mine yesterday, and they are top quality. The blades extend all the way through the handle, not like many others.

Thumbs up Re: Quality Chip Carving Knives

I must agree on your evaluation of Marty's new blades. I personally dabble with chip carving trying to bring my level up to a better product. I must admit that I have bought knives from various and sundry carvers and find them all to be equal to each other in all respects. These new knives do look intriguing and quite easy as far as price is concerned, no cheaper or more expensive than the other brands and bladesmiths. If someone is on the beginning side of chip carving they cannot go wrong with Marty's models---and I can guarantee them that those knives will be sharp. Notice that I live on Long Island and you cannot possibly be in a worse Summer climate than here, surrounded on three sides by water from the Atlantic to Long Island Sound, you want to check on humidity---we are the capitol of that word. Don't cut grass when you can hire someone younger to do it. "Doc"

I can assure you these knives are high quality and very sharp. I have just received the set of three and they are with the bone handles, sweet...the notch on the handle make them very user friendly to use. I have no affiliation with Marty, am only a user of his products.

I bought a set of bone handled knives from Marty and I carved the box first thing. The knives took a bit of getting used to as the blades are a tad bit longer but in a few minutes I had my hands going at it already. Attached is a facebook photo of the box lid. http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fb...type=1&theater
