Default Over Door Carving

I saw a similar idea from one of the other members here and really liked the idea. I searched for the thread to give credit and could not locate the thread. I hope the person doesn't mind my interpretation!

This is a Christmas present for my Dad who loves sailing. I have not yet finished the finish, but thought it was close enough to show off! It is carved in red oak and finished with garnet shellac. This was my first attempt at lettering.

Let me know what you think!

Very nicely done. The finish shows it off well and makes the lettering very readable.

Great job!
Nice neat lettering and the undercutting on the ship really makes it pop.

That's a very nice carving - rich finish and displayed very well....not busy like some signs. I expect he will be more than pleased.

Beautiful work. The sailing ships turned out great. Nice touch.
