Hello! I am hoping someone out there can help me out. Â*My Grandfather is a wonderful woodcarver. Â*Next year my sister is getting married and I have asked my Grandfather to make her a box for the envelopes to go into. Â*This box will be something that she will be able to use afterwards to keep things in and will be something special made by our Grandfather. We have been trying to think of dimensions etc. Â*Then someone suggested the size of a rural mailbox. Â*What a great idea, it would be big enough and would look nice too. Has anyone out there made anything like this? Â*Does anyone out there have any other suggestions for us? Â*Any advice etc would be appreciated!! Thanks in advance for taking the time to read my question and for your help!! |

With the flat surface of the box I would think that chip carving would lend itself well to this. Ask your Grandpa about any special words or sayings that are appropriate to a wedding from your ethnic roots. This could be done in the original foreign language of your family.

It wasnt recently carving butr my uncle made a special box for use at all the family weddings. Its shaped like a old fashioned church, and the roof lifts off to get the envelopes out.
