Thanks for posting the entire piece together. It's wonderful, and I commented on it's page as well.
That is a very fine piece.

You have a very interesting avatar, this leaf man with holes as if they were made by carterpillars. Where can I have a look at it please? I spent so little time in WCI and I find it difficult to find users' galleries, it should be easily available from the profile.. but I can't find it there unless a user deliberately adds a link to their own site or WCI gallery. Thanks for the comments.

Heh heh - well - I wish I could claim credit for my avatar, however, it is actually a carving in stone from the middle ages on a Cathedral in Bamburg Germany. He is know as the Bamburg Greenman and he is spectacular. He also happens to be my carving inspiration, so that's why I use him.

I have been dabbling with carving off & on (mostly off) for several years but my output is miniscule. So I have no gallery to share. Mainly I have carved bark woodspirits, bark fantasy homes, woodspirit hiking sticks, some small Santas and a couple practice relief carvings.

Time just doesn't allow me to spend much time actually carving. <sigh>

Well this avatar is phenomenal indeed, I think I'm going to ask a question about it in another thread. This is a kind of prestigious ancestor for the woodspirit. When I came to this community I became aware of the importance of the woodspirit in the Northern American culture.. It's intriguing really..

Cheers, thanks for taking the time...
