Default My first posting

I have been a member for several years, but never had the nerve to post any of my projects, so here goes....These are a couple of music boxes I just completed as Christmas gifts.

Nice chip work on top and joinery down below. Also very nice contrast between dark (walnut?) and light woods. Thanks for sharing this. Nice work!

The joinery was a challenge. It was my first attempt and I did them with a dado on my table saw. I have since invested in a combo dovetail/box jig....what a difference!! The wood is African mahogany, and basswood disks.
