Default My 1st Relief

This is my 1st try at relief carving. It is the "project #2a - rose" from this site: National Wood Carving School: relief carving

Any thoughts, tips or improvements would be appreciated.

Todd

Good job on your first relief Todd. My daughter carved the flower from the same site for a 4H project. I met some of these fine people at a woodworking show a few years back. Shame I live so far away as I would like to attend their school in real life.

Thank you all for the replies. I guess it was beginners luck, because the second relief I tried was a disaster. I am getting the hang of it though, and 2 of my other ones are coming out ok.
