Default Mini Relief

I did a small relief carving the wood is 3x3 1/4", I figured I could make an ornament out of it. I had a heck of a time trying to focus I could sure use a tripod. oops had to do it twice.

Nice looking carving and design , from what I can see. What are you using for a camera and set up? Looks like you need more light on the subject.

The image is kinda dark, but from what I can see, that is a really nice carving.
Can you lighten it up and post the image again? I would really like to see it better.

Here's a little clearer picture Thor.

squbrigg the camera I use is a Pentax Optio 550 6MP, I turned the flash off last night, today I moved my natural light by it and it came out better.

Much Better!
I really like the way you chip carved the frame and the touch of gold is wonderful. Wonderful carving! Yeah, light helps.
Thanks for posting it again.

Very good, thank you for reposting. I really like your carving. I agree, the gold is really a nice touch. Should make a great ornament or small picture.

I too have enjoyed photography as a life long hobby. Was fortunate enough to be able to incorporate it in my work (real job), so kept learning at the expense of the company. I am enjoying the flexability of digital, though miss the quality of 35mm. Soon digital will be as good as 35 mm. The new cameras have manual focus finally, so that last obsticle has been overcome. Now if I could only afford one of those new cameras, I'd be laughing. I use a Kodak DX6490, good camera but limited, without manual focusing. Especially in the stuff we do shooting woodcarvings.
