Knothole, really like your spirits in cotton wood bark. Please, can you tell me how you finish them? I'm new to this and really like the way you finish yours. Thanks

Now there's something that I haven't seen... a civil war woodspirit! That puts a pretty creative twist on things and I like that kinda stuff! Great job on thinking outside the envelope to come up with a very nice project.

And then you've got some history to boot! I think that you should write up something official and document the piece describing the history and the facts as you know them concerning the wood and the bullet (lead ball) then see if you can get it signed by some significant person(s) that can verify it then keep it with the carving. With that done you could be setting up your future descendants with a quite valuable piece, that is if the Antique Road Show is still going a hundred years from now!
