Little Shavers set for relief carving?

My wife and I have been doing some carving and whittling, mostly with Murphy knives. She would like to try some small relief carvings, not too deep. I was planning to get her the Little Shavers Beginner's set. Would the palm gouges in that set do for shallow relief carving, mostly in basswood? I know Rick has a great reputation and I figure an extra knife and carving glove couldn't hurt. I assume the set could also be used for the small in the round carvings we are learning to do.

Any thoughts would be appreciated.

I purchased that set for both my grandsons and the set is worth a lot more than Rick sells it for. All of the tools are excellent quality and all come super sharp and ready to go. Definatly well worth your money you cant go wrong.

They were my first set.
They will work for a starter set for relief and I still use them often. From that set I went to larger chisels because of the pleasure they gave me making my first reliefs.

Thanks for your help. I'll be placing an order soon. Will probably get that Kershaw Double Cross pocket knife for myself. Wouldn't want to waste any shipping.
