Default Leopard in relief.

Continue to experiment with carving animals, the big five hunting ones, and finished this attempt at the Leopard. The wood is Cherry, same size as the Elephant Bull one, 7" x 7".

Not as satisfied as with the Elephant, but I do have difficulty with cats. Need more practice I guess. Any recommendations as to what I'm doing wrong or not right?

Bob

Bob, I came to this thread to see what kind of ship the Leopard was...
Good job on the cat. Cherry! Seven by seven! That must mean the face is less than 4 inches! You do have abilities with small, my friend.

I have just come in from painting the floor in my carving studio. I still have to cut out the shelves, paint them, install them and then I am ready to move in. Diana says, "You have got to take photos and post them on WCI as soon as everything is in there.....because no one will ever see it that neat and clean again". She's absolutely right and I will.

Keep expanding your carving Bob. Your ships are fantastic; but, you have other talents also.

Bob, I am no relief carver but I know what I like when I see it. I like it and an excellent job you done on the cat.

Cherry is a pretty hard wood to carve in for sure.

Sorry, can't critique this one and all I can say is Excellent.
