I like the way you've drawn attention to the sidewalk with the painting detail and to the doors of the church. It focuses the attention on your subject and lets the background frame it.
Very nice piece. You have developed a style of your own and a series that is very recognizable as your work. That alone is quite an accomplishment.
Please keep us updated on your progress.
Thor

Al - I knew that ... I just wanted to be sure that Thomas did too! Most of the board has been through my tyrates on how I have yet to get this style under my belt.

Primitive and Folk Art carvings are one of my top style choices. What Thomas has done is in a few simple lines and with little persceptive show his church as a place of importance in his life. To be able to express that importance - that emotion - with the use of a minimal amount of detailing is supreb (sp) and blows me away.

To try a capture what he has would have taken my hours of carving and tons of detailing .... I am with you in that many people under estimate the artistic value of a Primitive style or Folk style work! They are so much harder than they look.

Susan

I appreciate the replies. I watched the carver at Dollywood and got interested about 3 months ago. I guess the good Lord has blessed me enough to learn what I've have learned so far. I appreciate all the help you all give.
God BLess,
Thomas
