I just wanted to comment that I'm finding William Schnute's book "High-Relief Woodcarving" to be a very nice. He is very effective in using pictures to help communicate his points. It would be nice if more of the pictures were in color but I think it's still very safe to recommend the book to anyone who may be reading this.

Hmm..I have the 1985 version, perhaps the edition published in 2000 is more colorful?

I have gotten a lot of ideas from Schnutes books. He is an amazing carver and an inspiration to me!!
