Default It has been awhile since I have posted but...

I`m back!!!! Just wanted to share a carving I did last fall. As some of you may remember I like carving old barn beams. This one was almost to much for me it was I found out after carving the piece the beam was ASH and hard as a rock. I carved the piece with hand tools only. The piece is 33 inches tall and the beam was 7 by 7. Thanks for looking...Bruce

I'll be putting this picture away in my reference library. Nicely done. I like the approach with the face set in behind the oak leaves. Great way of give the character a wood spirit look.

I agree with Patrick. The leaves standing out really give him a very woodsy look and more depth. What a great face. Good to see you back and doing so well.
