Smile Gun Stock Carving

Hi,

It's been a long time since I posting anything here, thought I would show you what I have been up to. This is a carving I did for my brother on his hunting rifle. I like the way it turned out. It's a little hard to see the detail in it because it is so dark.

Great job on the stock, the detail is very well done. I'm sure your brother will be very proud of you and his gun.

Great looking project. What did you use, hand or power tools?

Thanks, I used all power for this, my foredom and dremel. I carved this and basket weave on the grips and forearm area.

Really nice piece of work Jerry.
What kind of wood is it? I know Walnut is popular for gunstocks. If that's walnut, no wonder you used power. Either way, great job.

Hi Susieq, It was walnut. A little on the hard side, but holds great detail.

Beautiful. I especially like the textured background. It shows off the details well. Pretty wood.
