Well, it has taken some time, and several attempted paint jobs, but I'm finally finished and satisfied with the results. I have nothing but a deepening respect for bird carvers after this venture, I am slowly learning my limitations. I believe that I'll be happy to stick with ships from now on, at least there I know what I'm doing. Comments, good, bad or indifferent, always gratefully recieved. Bob

Ok for the good comment. WOW! I love it! Ok now for the bad comment. You don't HAVE limitations! You learn by making mistakes (in your eyes that is)and figuring the next time you will make it better. (again in your eyes as we are are worse for not liking what we did) You took yourself out of what your use to doing and you DID GOOD! Again WOW! So don't limit yourself to just one kind of carving. You already moved on to another adventure! Keep going for it! Thanks for sharing! Krum

Bob, as the others have said you did a super job on the golden eagle. You may not be able to fully appreciate the paint job that you put on there; but, it is excellent. You gave meaning to the name of the bird. It looks like a ray of sun is shining down on the back of the birds head and the top of the wing. It adds a lot of drama to a very well done carving.

Wow! Wow! Gorgeous! I wouldn't want to be a field mouse in front of that eagle. Beautiful! Wade |

I like what Paul said about the sun rays on the back of his head. Really nice paint job on yet another relief carving! I think you've caught the relief bug Bob! Welcome to the flat side! Thor |
