Default Gargoyles...........

First time I heard about this I was mildly surprised. My Son was contacted by an Architect and asked to carve a Gargoyle for a private home in the area.
Apparently these are used by believers to thwart bad luck and evil spirits.......... well....... whatever, as long as it paid well. And it did.
This one is 4" thick, 4' long and does have a 3' tail attatched after the mounting and, unfortunately, we forgot to take a picture of it all in place. We'll do that this spring when the owner returns. Either that or we can jump the 8' wrought iron fence around the joint.

He did a decent job on this one with a lot of detail with the veinging chisel.

BTW....... The image was taken from a photograph of a Gargoyle on one of his relative's ancestral home in Great Britian.

Very nice Gargoyle! Kinda nice to see a "cute" one, rather than some of those really scary ugly ones! If you decide to scale that wrought iron fence, be careful of the points.....I've seen a few people hung up by their snagged clothing on those things!

Latigo chose that approach to the face because the family has twin 5 year old girls. Nightmares and all that.............
