Hello All, Anybody here done the carving of fish scales with chisels?? I am looking for guidance on chisel types and burr reccomendations to relief cut the scales for texture. Thanks for your help! |

This may not be what you're looking for, but here goes. . . This photo is a part of a large (4 ft x 7 1/2 ft) wall hanging. It is a tesselation by Escher called "Symmetry Drawing C", with fish and birds filling the space. I wanted to give a "suggestion" of the fish scales, and carved them with a #5 or #7 gouge. scales.jpg |
