While camping this past summer, one evening as we were sitting around the fire pit, this piece of wood almost went up in smoke. My wife pulled it out and told me she saw a Santa in it, so home it came back with us. This is the result of what came out, it was all end grain so very hard to carve, used all power tools, a knife nor gouge never touched it.
Wood is unknown, acrylic paints, satin spray finish. Completed 2005
firewood! Well done son, bet wife is a happy camper now!

Bill,
A very unique piece absolutly superbly done. Every carving I see of yours just keeps getting better and better. Again wonderful vision and an excellent carving.

Coffeeman, I agree, that is a terrific Santa! Could you 'see' it too, right away when your wife did? I really think that is something, to see it in the wood, my carvings always come out of my imagination, drawn up, not just by looking at the wood. I'm envious!! Callynne
