Default fireplace

I've been commisioned to carve a fire place mantel in the shape of a water fall. I'm not sure how to do this. If anyone knows of any material that explains how to care water please let me know.
Thanks.

This may help, but you'll need to do a little adapting of technique. Â*In 'Essential Woodcarving Techniques', by Richard Onians, there is a section on carving folded linen drapery; Â*looks a LOT like a waterfall. Â*You would probably have to put some directional breaks in the consistant flow of the drapery model, but it sure looks like it would work, to me.

Bear with me here; either my computer's filter or the filter on this site changes D*I*C*K, as in Onians, to 'thingy', so you may have to look under the 'abbreviated' form of Richard Onians to locate the book. sorry about that!
