What do you guys & gals think...
Background dark with light on the Eagle.
Looking for in put.

My two cents is to use a dark background to bring out the details of the eagle.
Looks great, make sure you post a picture of the finished project.

I really like to stick with a simple finish of Danish Oil and Butchers wax which comes in white or brown. Easy, nice and rich, with a little shine but not too much.
Very cool piece!

Very nice carving. If I'm correct, that looks to be west coast style of carving. I typically use deft satin sealer following a treatment of oil. I usually on ly put on one coat to lessen any sheen that can occur with too much sealer. If you not putting a wash or paint on the eagle, staining or painting the background would bring out the carving more.
