Default Finished church carving

Just finished carving this one. Thought I would post a pic. before I painted it. I have been using plaques from wal-mart. They are not the best carving material. They splinter easy.

Nice, You might rough up the edges of your trees somewhat. Look at Susan's tutorial on Oak man and the was she did the beard and moustach edges. Can't remember what styeps but I thingk in the 160 to 171 number. The same principle works on th e trees.

No walmarts wood isn't the best by a long shot...but a mist of rubbing alcohol will help the splitting and chipping.

That's coming along nicely.....waiting to see it painted and finished. And I'm still digging through prints looking for those old spanish Mission photos I took.
