good morning to all,here is a carving i did no too long ago.it s from a pattern of lora irish.its basswood finish with minwax stain, blo and a bit of wood burning.that was very challenging to do,specially the feathers,your comment are welcome ,the more comment the better we advance ,thank you!parkwayman![ATTACH] |

Oh Parkway! I would never consider myself in the Master catagory ... I'm just a few years ahead of you on this fun road. The learning curve is dramatic in this hobby. The first few carvings seem to have sharp edges and rough areas ... the next few have a little more depth and a little more shaping ... and by a year your work will be right in there with everyone elses - smooth, well shaped, great depth ... In fact if you want a great thread go ask everyone to post one of their early works and one of their latest for comparision. Susan |

this piece of basswood is 18 by 12 inches across.this was a challenging project,fun to carve ,thanks a lot for your comment and to have take the time to view this carving.have a great day!!!!!!!!!! parkwayman.
