Default Duplicating a carving

I thought I would share with you my last carving opportunity which was a real challenge. I had to duplicate an 150 yr old wall panel for a local contractor. I have never duplicate a woodcarving before and quickly found I had to thing twice before each process. There is no cart in front of the horse on this one.

I made this woodcarving out of what I thought the wood might have been, 5/4 English Brown Oak. This carving let me use a few of my new Pfeil chisels that I won in the Woodcraft carving contest. I was a bit disappointed to see that the bottom carved area was hidden with the furniture.

Wow Roger, that is some piece of work! Well done my friend, to match the panels, there is no room for error and it looks like you were certainly up for the challenge. But then , we would have expected nothing less from you, you hold us to a very high standard! Well done .

Bob

Beautiful work! That is odd they put somthing in front of them and some of the carving is hidden. I can feel your disapointment in that area.

Marcia.
