Default door panel carving

Hey Guys - I posted this in "General Carving" yeasterday with no response - Have any of you on this site got any ideas?

I'm contemplating carving the panels in a 36" - 6-panel door in my shop. The door is next to my bench and encloses a small closet. My thought is to carve the panels with a wood carver/carving in progress. (see attachment)

Does anyone have thoughts on transposing a pattern to the panels? I don't want to carve the frame or styles so the pattern will need to have some dead space concealed by the styles in order to offer symetry.

Bob

I don't see the attachement. Not sure if this is what you are asking, but I have used an overhead projector to transfer patterns on to walls. They are not as easy to find these days. But if you have access to one, it might work for you.

Thanks Randy - I hadn't thought of that one and I think I know where I can get my hands on one.

The attachment was simply a photo of my bench and the door - no big deal

possibly something episodic? Each panel a diffrent scene, but when taken as a whole a story unfolds. Ragnarok, Revelation's, The divine comedy, all are incredible legends that lend themselves to being told through strong imagery.

I have carved doors and panels . I use rapid resizer and trace the pattern over carbon paper faster than pencelling which I have done . I have used overhead projector only when airbrushing designs on walls. The problem there which I found the larger the picture the larger the lines. Myself I prefer rapid resizer think because I am a little lazy. These are my views and my experiences only.
Hope I could help
