Yeah, Lonnie that is what I could see up above the tree line oe tucked off on the side. By the way, I got my papers finished by 8, after track practice a walk with my wife, supper and a few other chores. Now the decision, stay on the forum or go down and carve some. Tough one that.

John,

Kool stuff! I totally agree with Lynn.

Lonnie, Real nice Mt. goat.

Here's one of my uses for scrap...

I sell a lot of these!

QUESTION? Is it OK for me to post a pic of my stuff on this thread or is this what is called "stepping on someones thread"? I want to do the right thing here. Should I have started a new one?

Sigh......new technology......new protocol. I'm tryin.

Joe, I'm new enough not to be able to answer the protocol question. As for me, post on my threads any time. I hope to take this as sharing a passion and a joy not about me and mine. I have been feeling a bit funny about posting so many of my pics over the past four months. Don't want it to be about me. Just having a good time with the forum and the sharing things. What I am really looking for also is critique of the work, or letting others see the work so they can comment on it which will help me and others.

Thanks John.....well said.

Lynn.......Nifty??? lolololol We must be from the same generation.

I sell these little ones in pairs for $70. Put a glob of poster putty on the back and they stick em on a window or mirror......wherever they want to see geese flying. Only problem is if they have cats......oh well, they can always reorder!

Thanks

Joe

Joe, I don't mean to be disrespectful--but please tell me the $70 is a typo!?!? If it isn't do you sell many of the geese? They are great but I couldn't imagine anyone paying $70 for two small carvings! NOTE TO MYSELF: Gotta start selling instead of giving away!!

Yup Bob.......Seventy Dollars.

I've been selling them at that price for more than 10 years.....and yes I sell a lot. My rational is that the gals don't think of dropping $35 on a pin that size......so bingo! (I should have raised the price by now but I laugh too hard when think about it lol )

I also do these carved mirror frames with country scenes on them that sell for $450 to $750 and they make a nice little add on. Go figure.

Makes sense to me anyway.

Joe

You've got the right idea Joe. I call things like that "hooks". When people come to my gallery most of them just do so to look and not buy anything as most things in there are pretty expensive. However, I always keep a few really cheap items around which they almost always buy thinking that they ought to buy something for the trouble I went through to open the place up for them. Well, those little hooks add up over the long run as you can probably attest to.
