Boy, I see nothing wrong with your workmanship meipo, and I bet your friend was very pleased to receive your gift.
meipo, it's so hard when we loose a parent, and we struggle to find some kind of peace within ourselves. I think your parting gift for you father to take with him is so very touching. May you find peace.

Thank you both for your kind words.

I am glad we have this little place where we can all come together to share and offer support for each other. You all have taught me so much in every single way. Words are not enough to express my gratitude and appreciation.

I can only repeat what the others said, here: good work! If there are any mistakes we cannot see due to pixel limitations: don't worry, they're too small to count in the real world as well. It's good to be self-critical up to a point, but you can just be proud of those!

meipo , very nice work ,like some of the others have said all I would do is put 2or 3 coats of satin poly under your wax , then they should never get stained.
My heart goes out to you on your loss , our parents will live on forever in our hearts. The piece you sent with him I'm sure he will treasure.

Meipo,

I am sorry I missed the thread till now. The sediment is outstanding and I am sure your father would approve. I would like to tell you it get easier, but it really doesn't , we just learn to live with it.

I am sure your friend loved them . Nice work and great kindness.
