I posted and realized I had said all that before ! geez getting as old as .....well you know lol.....anyway I am going to try my hand at making my own chip knife and in the meantime, I think I mentioned in an earlier post about getting 3 knives on ebay at a great price...I really like the knives, in fact my wife just ordered a set for herself. But the man making them is making me a custom chip knife....will let you know how it turns out....I think there is something wrong in my wiring....I use about every knife and tool I own to carve anything....I find myself with 3 or 4 chip knives on the bench to do a chip carving? wazzup wid dat? LOL

The new Moore chip carving knives have a composite handle and do not slip in your hands. They are very comfortable. I have small hands and find that the large one is too big for me, but most men seem to have no problem with either the small or the large. I also have the Wayne Barton knives and like them but find the Moore knives more comfortable and seem to do a better job. If you have not found them yet, you can find them on our website: http://www.sawdustconnection.com/Carving%20Supplies.htm

I will second that ... I just received my set of 3 knives from Harold the other day and they are great.

Problem is, they say they are stainless steel blades! I personally haven't had great success with stainless!

Hello,

I just got my chip carving knives from Woody on Friday. I ordered one, but he wasn't sure what kind I wanted, so he made two instead. They are razor sharp, and I love them both. Very nice knives, and a great person to do business with.

Thanks,
Dan
