Well personally, I started with Wayne Bartons Chip Carving Techniques and patterns and if you follow his directions you will do just fine...the rest is up to you.

Hi Gilly; thanks for your interest in the Chip Carving books. I really had given up hope of their sale since I put them up on the last day of 2005.

Unfortunately, those were just sold to my woodworking club this week. I wish you had been in touch with me sooner, since I am of the opinion you would get better use of them than they will.

However this bunch of "Moor Books by Chipping Away" as far as I know are still available.

Projects with Free Form Patterns for Chip Carving
Free Form Patterns for Chip Carving
Chip Carving Classics "One" by Lora Irish
Chip Carving Classics "Two" by Lora Irish
110 Patterns for Chip Carvers by Rita Blanton, all books are in immaculate condition, $10.00 ea or $40.00 for 5 + mailing.

In addition if you have a VCR I have a 4 set VCR tapes by Chipping Away -- Vol. 1 An Intro to Chip Carving, Vol. 2 Rosettes & Curved Borders, Vol. 3 Grids, Free Form Patterns & Finishing Part I, and Vol. 4 Layout, Lettering, and Finishing Part II which I think you would enjoy if you are just learning to Chip Carve. Chipping Away has a web site and I think the 4 set of tapes sells for $90.00 more or less. I'd let these go for $25.00

Or I also have Wayne Barton's Video for $15.00.

As a matter of interest, I just recently sent a box of WW'ing magazines to a gentleman in Rose Valley, Bob Somebody (Can't remember his last name).

Thanks again for your inquiry
