| | Chip Carved Memory Box My Grandson Lawson, who is 8 yrs. old informed me some time ago that he was nearly a teenager. As such he needed a box to put those things in that are precious to him now, but won't be played with when he reaches the magic age of 13. He wondered if Gramps would be able to make something for him to store those valuables. This Basswood box measures approx. 10" X 14½" X 6" H. It is stained with Wood-Kote cherry gel stain, and sprayed with Deft lacquer. Since there is a 5 pic limit, the back of the box will be shown cont'd.

| | Re: Chip Carved Memory Box It's probably easier to continue with a reply. Here's the back of the box. That's a CDN 2007 twoonie embedded beside Gramps message to Lawson. Hope you enjoyed looking. It's been a long time since I posted here. My other hobby "woodworking" has been taking up most of my time.

| | Re: Chip Carved Memory Box Mackc, I don't think your Grandson had a box like that in mind when he asked you to make him a box to keep his valuables in. I think it's beyond his expectations. Very well done and nice gift. Merle |

| | Re: Chip Carved Memory Box Super idea for a memory box. I'm sure that you're Grandson is going to love it. Well done. The sailing ship on the top is beautifully executed. That box is going to be in your family for many generations to come.

went to your album and Darn now I have another project for my own list!! I very much like you lap board as I have given just a little amout of tought of doing that. Since I am retired and end up eating supper infront of the TV have made myself a painted one that is simply flat 3/4 plywood. with all the corners rounded and routered. after eating supper tend to get the laptop and connect to our other computer. but NOW am also instead thinking of what I can do besides compute if it were not for things rolling off! SO now that I see yours I gotta revise mine or even make a whole new one! I may add a recessed cup/glass/pencil holder. but I sure do like yours!! | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
