Default Carving Instruction

I've been looking at the 2carve.com website. They have a pretty good tutorial. I was thinking of picking up the four tools they recommend because I don't have any bent gouges. What sweep would be best? Also, on the Pfiel tools which sweep would be the 60 degree v tool?

If anyone has other recommendations, that's ok too.

thanks

Default Re: Carving Instruction

Earl a sweep can be almost anything. It is basically a bent tool that is bent with a curve. And as far a a V tool sweep is concern I have a couple of them. But a 12 is a 60 degree V .

Best thing I can suggest is to look at them. Only you know which is best suited for your work. A 12L/14 may be way to big or might be too small for you.
