Thank you jax I wasn't quite sure how to handle the frame part. As it was part of the panel made things real easy. LOL

Beautiful work Kathy! It's hard to believe this is your first relief work. I can't wait to see what you will be doing in a year or so. Your early work during the levels stage is fantastic and really makes his face come right out of the background. Establishing the levels so nicely is well worth the time, energy and labor as it creates the structure behind all the detailing.

Very, very nice!

Susan

(I think I'm jealous ... That carving is nicer than mine ........ !)

Susan, wow I'm so pleased you like my buffalo. I don't think I could have done one on my own without following your instructive step by step from your book. It also helps if you have a terrific pattern to follow.
I don't think I could have attained the consistant levels without using the depth guage you recommend as part of your suggested tools.
As for my carving being better than yours---I don't think so girl!!!! But thanks for the thought anyway. I hope someday to be half as good a carver and burner as you.
Thank you for taking the time to check up on me. So great to hear from you!
Kathy
