Default Anyone heard of Gen Jansen? New carver with questions.

Hi
I just started doing some carving, I do a lot of scroll sawing and we have a local free lance carving group so I kinda joined them the other night to ask some questions. I found an old loose leaf folder I had on pierced relief carving by Gen Jansen. I thought maybe I could scroll out parts and carve the rest. I make a lot of ornaments and I was thinking maybe I could do some with thinner basswood and and then carve out parts and wash with acrylic colors.
That way I could combine the two hobbies. Just doin this for fun.
Thanks for the help
Bill in Wisconsin

many new ideas and concept are borne from new ideas-- im not sure i understand exactly what you are refering to-- but the concept makes sense to me-- go for it-- i imagine that you will refine your product as you go along-- i know that what im doing now isnt exactly what i started out doing.

I am Gen Jansen, of St Cloud, MN. Have been carving for over 35 years and teaching about 30. If you have any questions about my work - mostly caricature and bark carving - my e-m address is <gencarves@charter.net>
