| | Re: Antelope Relief WIP Susan LOL, you always bring a smile to my face. I wasn't sure where to post them all together--soooo I thought well why not in their original threads.
Actually, to give credit where credit is due especially if you haven't read earlier posts in this thread. I used a pattern from Susan's book 'Wildlife Carving in Relief' a Fox Chapel Publishing Co. Inc. book. Whether a new or advanced carver you will enjoy working from Susan's instructions. Check out her pattern website at http://www.carvingpatterns.com/
Susan part of this 1st Place Ribbon belongs to you too! But I'm keeping the ribbon! tee hee
Kathy Bob Thank you Bob, you know it really is wonderful to receive an award for your work. Especially when it's for something you really love doing.

| | Re: Antelope Relief WIP Keeping the ribbon .... Ahh! Shoot!
Now we were all recently in a discussion about entering competions for the learning experiences ... When there is every reason to do so just for the fun and joy that occassionally you win!!!! You don't need any other reason especially when it's your county fair.
A pattern is simply another tool that you the carver used. It's your interrupritation (Spelling error) that won the prizesssss.
Lady, I tip my hat as I now know you came home with FOUR ... you must have just blown them out of their seats.

| | Re: Antelope Relief WIP Kathy,
That is a well earned ribbon. Your work improves all the time. I wish I had time to work on mine , but real life has really been a pain lately.
Well done and well earned!

| | Re: Antelope Relief WIP Susan LOL Susan, there you go again making me smile! I entered only four and tried to choose my best efforts. I thought it a good test to check my progress and I was encouraged by my fellow carving club members also. It was both fun, good experience and rewarding even if I wouldn't have won. Ash Thank you, it will be almost a year soon since the wood bug struck! LOL
I know life sometimes gets in the way of our woodcarving. It's hard when you love carving and woodworking not to be able to do it anytime we wish. Retirement gave me that opportunity and I took it! Mel Thank you, actually this wasn't my first relief Susan's Buffalo pattern was my first. Then came the Antelope which was my second relief. Good memory, close though!
Thank you all,
