| | Re: Antelope Relief WIP Marci Hi, don't ya just love that book and Susan does such a nice job of instruction. I will attach some updates as I progress along. As I mentioned before this one isn't a step by step so I have to make some discisions on my own. Taking my time so hopefully I don't make to many. LOL Gilly, thanks I want to be able to add as much depth as I can--which should if done well really make the antelope come forward. Fingers crossed.
Thank you both, for your compliment and comments.

Hi All:
Here are a couple of update images. At this point I seem to be working on it as I would a painting 'all over'. In the last image I've started to work on the antelope carving for depth. By the next updates there should be a pretty dramatic change.
Thanks for looking,

Not sure why the images look blurry, they looked clear in my imaging program. This time rather than scan the work I took a digital image. Maybe it will show clearer.
Sorry,
Kathy
Ok this looks much better you can see the various transitions or levels. |

| | Re: Antelope Relief WIP That is really coming along great, Kathy. Can't wait to see it finished. I am going to have to try a relief with levels soon. I've done one but I just took out the "background" then detailed what was sticking up I've gotten hooked on the in the round carving so haven't experimented with the relief other than that one. I will be waiting to see your finished carving.

| | Re: Antelope Relief WIP Kenny, wow thank you and I will keep working at it. Bob, thank you too and I will post more updates as I progress. Gilly, the deepest depth is the background where the mountain meets the horizon it's 1/2 inch deep. All levels have just about been taken down. Nancy, thank you too, and yes please do a relief for us. I have found my favorite carve is relief. Before we left CA. (bay area) three years ago I had started a relief in clay. But had to brake it down for the move to AZ. that was my only experience with relief--other than the buffalo and now antelope. I'm thinking I'd like to redo the relief I started in CA. only this time with wood.
By the way I'm a big fan of your in the round carvings.
Thank you everyone for your compliments and comments I really appreciate you all--and the encouragement.
