Default Another wedding plate!

I received another wedding plate commission, maybe I should have said trade. A fellow carver and good friend was in need of a chip carved wedding plate and when he asked about the price I told him just carve me a little something. Just that quick I was as honored to receive one of his carvings as he was one of mine. I put him right up there at the top with all the big named caricature carvers.

The only request he had for this carving was to use the names and date with something in the middle having to do with the place where they were married at. I'll let you guess where that place is. If you can guess it right then I did my job right. I'll post the finished plate later.

I can see you doing this full time...everybody will want one of your plates. The trim along the outside is very nice. Look forward to viewing your relief in the centre.

YAY For Disneyland and Cinderellas castle!!! OMG How sweet! You did a great job! I so love the edge! I can't wait to see the finished palace! I was there this summer... I'm sorry, but just walking in that castle is so romantic...I may be overly sappy...but your plate made me misty eyed! That is one of my favorite places ever!

Beautiful work Rog. Love the shape of the edge and design work you've done. Great ideas.

Looking really sharp. Are you carving the castle to or burning it in place?

I finally finished the plate.

I sprayed a lite coat of Deft lacquer on the plate then stained it with brown mahogany stain. I then sprayed 8-10 coats of Deft lacquer for the final finish.
