| | Another try! Well here is the next attempts at relief. The Mountie is more of a shallow relief and the old timer is a deep. I want to try and do both to see which is the best for me. I can't judge depth with my camera so these will be done by feel. I stocked up on bandades and have the Dr on speed dial so wish me luck. It will take me alot of hours to do these. |

| | Re: Another try! Hi Ron, well guy you have a nice two projects a head of you. I find that I really like the deep relief carving. But don't do as I did and brake though the board. Course mine was 3/4 and should have been 1 inch. Guess I can repair with some wood putty. Good lesson learned though. Hope you'll share progress! Kathy |

| | Re: Another try! The Mouintie is one of Susan's. I enlarged it to about 8X14. The larger they are gives me more room or area to feel the pattern. The other one is even larger it is 13X22X2"thick. The deepest that I go is 1 1/2. I think they both will be fun. |

| | Re: Another try! Ron, Looks great and I know yopu will do well, Take your time on them. I like both sibjects. The old man looks like one of my relatives but he had a very red nose. The mountie will be neat. What may help is posting a WIP so as some of the relief carvers can help you with the depth. Just a suggestion. Kathy, You broke through the board eh? Why not put another board on the back of the one you are carving on, then clean up where you went through. That would be one that would cover the whole piece. Should come out fine. Catch y'll later as We are heading to Misourery way and hope to meet Garon if we can get our phone numbers together and the time..
