Default Animal tracks???

I am looking for some tips on carving some animal tracks, deer, turkey, even duck tracks. Anyone have any pictures or experience here??

I just googled " tracking animals " and got a bunch of sites ,,tracks in snow,,closeups all sorts of things to look at.As far as carving them,,it could be as little as a shallow relief,,or possibly just use a router to rough in a basic shape,,not sure how big or small you plan on doing them,,life size or in a small scale on a model or something like that,,but for the shallow divots they'll be it should be relatively straight forward

Google "Animal Tracks" then click on Animal tracks-mammal tracks. I think you will find exactly what you are looking for.

SO after I do that, I print it off, then photocopy it,place it on the wood, and use my hot transfer tool to copy it on???

you can transfer the patterns any way you wish, there are several different methods you just have to find the one you prefer.
copiers can also be used to scale a pattern to the proper size...if you don;t have one your local library is a good source.

Willie, when you do the carving remember that the prints will not all be the same depth nor will any one print have the same depth. For realism, as an animal walks it's weight shifts. Often the front area of a print will be deeper than the back area. When you look at photos and images look for the changes in the depth within that impression.
