Default 2-50th Anniversary Plated finished

My wife has 2 sisgters, and both are celebrating their 50th anniversary this year. I decided to chip carve them each an anniversary plate. Besides the dog pull-toy that i carved my grandsons name into - this is really my first attempt at chip carving.

Both plates have the same design, only the names & dates are different. Here is one of them!

for looking!

Very nice. Did you burn it after or is it painted. Either way, it turned out nice.
Carve On,

Beautiful job!!
The dark stain really makes the carving pop. It is very hard to keep dark stain from coloring the surface. Looks like you found the secret.

Thanks for the comments!

@Kadiddle - after carving, I put on like 4 - 5 coats of Deft. After it dried I used MinWax Gel-stain - wiped over entire plate, then wiped off - leaving the stain in the carving. After stain dried, I put on a few more coats of Deft!
