Smile Re: wood bugs

I use Methylene Chloride poured in the hole areas, then bag. Termites are finished once you remove the wood from ground contact.Heat works well as in a wood stove. Plastic bag under stove, let get hot for a day or two and turn over. Micro wave, problem is you run out of wood moisture, and wood gives off smoke from internal heating..When done carving.I seal with a urethane spray, ala Ian Norbury... If there are a lot of bugs, get some black paper and beat on the wood with a hammer until no more bugs pop out of the wood.Microwave them, add salt.. Not as good as popcorn, but higher in protein,, Cordially Nad

I had that happen to a beautiful maple burl! Little holes came out of nowhere. I guess they left, or they are still in the motorhome storage area....oh well.
