| | Why aren't my posts showing up? Hello -
I had sent some queries to the Admin/WebMaster yesterday and last night due to my inability to get my registration confirmed. Turned out the my Hotmail account was trashing automatically my junk mail and your confirmation email was automatically getting filtered as junk. Anyway - got that sorted last night so you can ignore my email queries.
Now, I have managed to post a new thread in the New Members area and a few small replies in other areas, but I tried to post a longish new thread in the Tools & Sharpening and it isn't showing up. I tried twice and it still isn't there.
Are the posts screened first? Am I doing something wrong?
Please advise. Thanks for your help and for the awesome resource!!!

Due to a slew of spam posts, the admin put in a "rule" that requires posts by new members to be approved before being visible. At least the first few. This has greatly reduced the number of spam posts that we get, but causes a little problem - as you have experienced.
The moderators have not learned to see the little icon that tells us that the post is not visible.
I approved your post. |

| | Re: Why aren't my posts showing up? Thank you Mitchell. It appears to only affect new thread posts right? Since my replies to other threads seem to have worked.
Thanks for clearing it up.

| | Re: Why aren't my posts showing up? "It appears to only affect new thread posts right?" It ususally is the first one and some with attachments...I don't know the exact number that can be posted before the poster is "free" to post without approving.
Dave, the icon is a little person with an X on his head. It shows up on the thread list and on the post that needs approving. There was a post on the Mod FAQ and I figured it out from there.
It is hard to recognize the little man icon. |
