It's not just your end. It happens to me once in a while when I type a long email with hotmail. If I've typed a lot and it's taken me forever to type it, when I hit the send button hotmail tells me that I was idle too long and I will need to sign back in. When I do, the email wasn't sent and I lost everything that I wrote. Now, if I get the feeling that it's been too long, I copy everything I wrote. That way if I do get the boot, when I sign back in I just paste what I wrote into a new message and send right away. Less frustrating, but still not as good as not getting kicked out in the first place.

Typically, when I type a lengthy reply to a post, I'll compose the response in Word and copy/paste the text into the reply box. It's much easier to compose and make changes that way, and there's no time limit.

Most web browsers (Safari, FireFox, Internet Explorer) let you have more than one window open at a time, or more than one tab. Open a second window, or a second tab, and in the second tab, go to the WCI forum. Go back to your first window/tab where the WCI forum is that you're replying to, and type for a few minutes. Go back to your second window, select something else from the forum (keeps the server active), and then back to your first window and continue typing for another few minutes. Repeat as necessary.

David , do you have NOTE PAD on your computer or even to type your reply in an email, both of which you can have open while on the internet. Type in your reply in the notepad, and copy and paste it in where you want to reply. If you right click on the page you typed the message in, you will see the option, 'SELECT ALL" click on that, click on copy, and paste the message. Hope this helps. Hugh

You've gotten some good suggestions. When I have a long post I use Notepad or MS Word to type the words. Then just copy and paste into the posting. Add the photos and you're done.

Unfortunately, since this is a commercial site, we had to set it up so that an "idle" connection would get booted after a specific period of time. You've gotten several good suggestions here (ones that I use myself).
