Lightbulb raw hiking sticks wanted to buy

new to wood working, but i found it relaxing. I bought 7 ugly interesting hard wood stick from a garage sale and started carving away with jack knife hornets with nest inwhich i finished and now all sticks have some sort of animal or insect carved on them. Now looking for buying more sticks to carve into. Any suggestion where to buy would be of help.

Chuck... We missed you at the carving workshop the other day! How long do your sticks have to be?

Bummer! Actually, I wasn't there either. I came down with a mild case of shingles last Sunday. Had my face blow up like a balloon! I was at Home Depot today and talked with one of the club officers who I had asked to keep and eye out for you. He told me that you hadn't showed. We'll look for you this coming Tuesday!

I have some Tulip Poplar sticks in the shed. Most of them have been cut down to cane size so that a handle will have to be installed on them. But if you tell me what length and diameter you're looking for I'll see what I've got. I didn't make my Spring trip this year so my supply is low and what I have to select from is pretty sparse but I'll be happy to give you one if I have something you can use.

Correction, I'll be at carving on the 26th. I've got an eye appointment at the retina specialist next Tuesday. But I'll have the guys keep an eye open for you.

No problem Chuck. Bring your stick and some tools and the guys will fix you up with a spot to work at, some coffee and a donut!
