Default Problems with "New Posts"

Hello Mr. The Computer Message Board Fix-it Guy!

I wish to report a problem...just a little one....but it is there none the less. Rather annoying.....but then that's what problems are like, or they wouldn't be called problems?

When I go into the board to check for new mail/messages, I sign in and go directly to "New s". I will read posts at random and reply to some, but lately when I return to "New s" I will not find the remaining un-read posts always. Sometimes I will find one, the one I've just replied to, but usually nothing. At the same time, the little indicator mark to indicate a new/un-read post, will have dissappeared from all of the un-read posts. This is an intermittant problem but one that can frustrate me. I have been taking note of as much of the specifics as I can to help you identify the problem, but my memory is terrible, so I forget. But it just occurred again, and I know that there were a whole bunch of messages that I hadn't read in the "New " group, but they all disappeared, while I was responding to one!

Please tell me I'm not losing my mind and that you can fix it!

Bob

This one is going to take me some time to research. This weekend we are off to a Scroll Saw Picnic. Hopefully, next week I will be able to take a look at.

Thanks,
Mr. Computer Fix it Guy

I'd also like to mention that the New s list is considerably smaller than Today's s list before you sign in... is there a reason for this?

I must apologize. My plate is really full right now and haven't had the time to research.

Rales,

New posts were showing more then Today's posts on that particular day because I updated the counters for the message board. I think it was an abnormality for that particular day.

squbrigg,

I believe your issue is the same. When I rebuild the counters it must remove the posts New and Today. That is my best guess at the moment. I haven't rebuilt the counters since early July. Have you had any problems in the last few weeks.

Thanks,
Rob

Thanks Rob!

Whatever you did worked for me... I now get more "New s" - (several days worth) after signing in - than the "Todays s"...Great solution.

We appreciate your time!
