Ed,

sorry for not answering sooner but i went to sleep at 6am...

when i had problems with learning my computer i asked a kid untill they got tired of me asking and then they just run off and hid " snickering and giggling" the next time i hollered....

"what is a jpg."
that is something not answered very easy, and its depending on how you got your computer set up, that will enable you to even tell what the file name extention is.

hopefully this isent too nerdy or full of geek jardon.

computers save different kinds of files in different designations, and the .### 3 letter extention. which sets the format so the human operator and the computer can sort out what they are doing or looking for as well as what program runs them.

FILE EXTENTIONS are better explained on this website http://filext.com/

windows comes out of the box installed with the known extentions of filenames hidden..

in a nutshell :
typed documents letters and notes of text have extentions of .doc .txt

graphic files or pictures come in a array of types and filenames, .bmp .jpg .gif and so on

when you save a graphic or picture you are given a choice to save it as the different flavors or types.

lets say you were saving a file called house
if you selected the save as jpg file it would be called house.jpg

You need to do a search. Someone did a tutorial on posting pictures. I can't post a stamp so I also need to print out the tutorial. Sorry I can't do it for you as I'm browsing as I eat.

Thanks for stepping in bobD,

after thoural review of the posted messages in this thread I'm ashamed of my conduct.
i don't take hallucinogenic medicine's but they do sometimes effect me, i'm not usually a grouch nor get on many rants,
but some of my comment-rants were really off topic and i will delete the rant...

instead of working to solve the problem i was part of it. i hope not to fall into this category again in the future...

apologies if i offended anyone,

i will still help people post-upload photos if its needed for them to share and trade techniques or just brag on their work....

but will refrain from commenting on the subject in such a mannor.
Thomas

Thomas,
You are NOT part of the problem. I've struggled with this software for a while now...sometimes I can upload a file and sometimes I can't...It's also a function of our ISP, and I can't crack that code!

Your conduct was perfectly all right! You are allowed to get frustrated and angry--and you did not express it in an offensive manner!

well sorry i was such an A** about it anyway,
but when i can get my FRanKenPUTeR from "CRRashing" ill get a capture of the screens and merge the information i can togather into a simple information sheet then i will email it to you and you can see if it works....

i have seen posts to many to count on how do i do this.. and searching the archives isent always the answer becuse we all have our ideas about what to search for. the archives would work better if the subject dealt more closly than broad generalitys, as you can get lost in there without a doubt.with a search on problems.. dealing with pictures. becuse most suggestions are just dropped becuse folks just give up or have success but never the less i would love to contribute...

but we have to start out understanding most of the folks that are having problems are folks that are limited in the knowledge of their own system works.. therefore it has to start there , not starting after the modem is dialed..
i can hope you only understand and im not reaching beyond the scope of a user.
