Check out Lynn Doughty's blog. He did a piece called "Trouble on the water" where he showed how he used a combination of 5 minute epoxy and hot glue to create the water. It is very realistic. You should be able to find a post on this site with the www. address. Good luck!

I have used a product called Envirotex. Just google it. Any craft store carries it.
It is a resin and a hardener that you mix.

Lynn has a blog and he uses it to teach woodcarving and to show case his carvings. When you get there be prepared to stay a while. He has video and still photography tuitorials. The one you are looking for is a picture series. It is on the Picasa Photo Gallery.

The address is: OutWestWoodCarving

I know you will find what you are looking for. Good luck with your project!
