Hello everybody.

What type of Carving Tools is best to buy online, no big iron. It's so expensive to buy it in Iceland.

Swedish knives were used extensively in Iceland fishing boats. These make good carving knives.

Tell us what you like to carve first. Small things, hand held carving, vice carving??? Birds, fish, caricatures, walking sticks, wood spirits, etc. It does make some difference between which palm tools or full sized tools to recommend. Although, as you learn to carve, you learn to use full sized tools just like they are palm tools--you just "choke" up on the handle and shaft.

Also, do you already have some carving tools and if so, what kinds do you have and like?
